Fitzroy Gardens Wedding and Becco Reception – An Iconic Melbourne Wedding

Leonora and Elliot’s Fitzroy Gardens wedding followed by their Becco reception was one for the ages. What I loved most about their day is that they stayed so true to themselves. Every detail was intentional, personal, and meaningful. Their only brief to me? As few posed photos as possible. They wanted to spend every moment soaking up time with their loved ones — and that’s exactly what they did.

A Fitzroy gardens wedding

The couple’s ceremony and garden party took place in the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens. This inner-city oasis set the perfect tone: elegant yet relaxed, surrounded by greenery, right in the heart of Melbourne.

With the help of wedding planner extraordinaire Cait from Celebrait Wedding Co, everything ran seamlessly. Cait has this magic way of allowing couples to sit back, relax, and simply enjoy, knowing that every little detail is under control.

Styled beautifully by Botanee, the garden party was an absolute delight — complete with a Canneloni cart, a champagne tower, and of course, the best company you could imagine.

If you’re dreaming of an inner city garden wedding, Fitzroy Gardens is a fantastic choice. It’s central, full of character, and gives you that feeling of being tucked away in nature while still being minutes from Melbourne’s laneways and reception venues.

City Wanders & A Becco Wedding Reception

After the ceremony, Leonora and Elliot joined me for a relaxed photo walk through the city. We meandered towards their reception, stopping along the way for candid portraits and even ducking into a bookshop they had their sights on. It gave them a few precious moments to breathe, reflect, and simply be together.

Their reception was held at Becco Restaurant, a Melbourne institution tucked away on Crossley Street. Becco is known for its phenomenal Italian food and lively atmosphere, and it was transformed beautifully by Cait and Botanee for the evening. I love when couples choose a venue that isn’t traditionally a “wedding venue” — it always feels so authentic and personal.

The room was buzzing with energy: heartfelt speeches, laughter echoing off the walls, incredible food and wine, and a dance floor that didn’t stop all night.

A Wedding That Was Truly Theirs

L looked radiant in her Grace Loves Lace gown, and E was her perfect match in style and energy. From the canneloni cart to the champagne tower, from the first look at Fitzroy Gardens to the intimate bookshop portraits, this was a wedding that reflected exactly who they are… joyful, stylish, and deeply connected to their people.
