Max’s restaurant is a perfect winery wedding venue in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. This beautiful restaurant and ceremony space is everything you love about the Mornington Peninsula in one gorgeous spot. Breathtaking views of the Western Port Bay and beyond, a rolling vineyard, fine dining and of course amazing wine. With a ceremony space under the trees and the restaurant for your reception, you really can’t look past this place if you’re after a spectacular Red Hill wedding venue that will wow your guests.
Max, the myth and the legend behind Max’s Restaurant, is a talented chef and lover of fine wine who made a decision years ago that seemed crazy to others. At the time, there was no freeways for people to reach the now iconic Red Hill wine region and no winery restaurants. Max, after returning from Europe, had grown up close to the area and knew that this would be the perfect spot to open a winery restaurant. This decision not only resulted in his now multi award winning restaurant and winery, but paved the way for the Red Hill you see today. Now a place where people flock to taste the wine, soak up the atmosphere, have their weddings and eat the fabulous local produce. So I guess you could say, not only is Max’s Restaurant an amazing place to have your wedding, it’s also filled with the history of starting something and it blossoming into something of dreams. Maybe not unlike your love story.
When you have a Max’s restaurant wedding, you’ll have the place to yourselves! The terrace or lawns at Max’s are both stunning areas to hold a ceremony with 18O degree views of the sweeping landscape and Western Port Bay over Phillip Island and beyond Wilson’s Promontory. I was lucky enough to capture this ceremony set up on the lawns overlooking the vines and the beautiful view. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic and relaxed ceremony. Calm. Serene. Awe inspiring. You could hear the light wind rustle through the trees and it felt warm and inviting. The backdrop of the ocean view and beautiful vines is the perfect spot to commit to forever to the one you love.
A Max’s restaurant wedding – you’ll be falling in love all over again with this gorgeous Mornington Peninsula wedding venue once you enter the grounds. The tranquil sound of the little creek as you make your way to the restaurant instantly makes you feel relaxed and happy. You might even see some ducks waddle along from the gorgeous little duck pond. Max’s Restaurant has a panoramic view of the vineyard and the bay and the light and airy interior feels elegant. This is a stunning spot for your reception and perfect no matter what time of year! On those gorgeous summer nights you can enjoy a glass of your favourite wine and canapés on the terrace with your loved ones. In winter you can feel the warmth of the open fire as you sip wine under the twinkle lights that line the restaurant. You can already guarantee the food is going to be amazing, and you will work with the venue to choose a menu and type of reception you’re after! Whether it’s a sit down meal or a cocktail menu, Max’s will make sure it’s nothing short of spectacular!
I popped on down to this fabulous Red Hill wedding venue to check out the behind the scenes and take some photos of a wedding set up. The team were in action making sure everything was perfect. Events by Antonio’s (another benefit of having your wedding at Max’s Restaurant – Antonio is ready to work with you to style your wedding!) lined the tables with beautiful fresh leaves and made sure the ceremony space was set up with beautiful blooms and lanterns! This was a sit down wedding reception with a 3 course meal so the tables were being set up perfectly, the champagne being poured for guest arrival and the live music being set up for the corner near the bar. It was buzzing and the guests were blown away when they saw the restaurant, the view and the beautiful ceremony space.
