I had the joy of collaborating with an incredible team of Melbourne creatives on an editorial we called “Filigree.” It was a celebration of old world opulence, styled to perfection by Jazmine from Cloth and Confetti Events, and set against the backdrop of a classic Melbourne building.

The vision was clear: to blend history, grandeur, and romance into a modern editorial that felt both timeless and inspiring.

The Vision Behind Filigree

From the moment Jazmine shared her concept, I knew this editorial would be something special. Every detail was curated to reflect elegance and grandeur — gilded tones, intricate textures, and floral artistry that felt regal yet romantic.

The Melbourne location itself became a character in the story — its classic architecture, ornate features, and rich history gave us the perfect canvas for showcasing opulence in a fresh, modern way. Jazmine’s styling was breathtaking — she has an eye for balancing drama with elegance. Think: cascading florals, layered textures, and luxurious tones that nodded to another era while still feeling relevant for today’s couples. Every element worked in harmony, from the tablescapes to the stationery, creating a scene that was nothing short of magical. HHEEEEAAAAAAAVVVVVEEEEEEN!

Why Do Wedding Creatives Produce Editorials?

As wedding professionals, editorials are more than just pretty photos. They’re our chance to:

  • Experiment & Play: Weddings are live events with set timelines and client expectations. Editorials let us push boundaries, try new techniques, and explore creativity without limits.
  • Show Couples What’s Possible: Styled shoots offer inspiration beyond the everyday. They spark ideas couples might not have considered — whether that’s bold florals, unique venues, or editorial-style photography.
  • Collaboration & Community: Bringing together florists, stylists, celebrants, and photographers creates magic. Editorials are where suppliers connect, share ideas, and showcase their best work.
  • Elevate Our Craft: Editorials are an opportunity to refine our skills and present ourselves as artists, not just service providers.

For couples, these shoots are more than inspiration — they’re proof of what a dream team of creatives can bring to life.

Beyond the beauty, Filigree was a day of joy. Working alongside talented, like minded creatives reminded me why collaboration is so vital in the wedding industry. We laughed, experimented, and left with images and memories that I’ll always treasure.

Old World Opulence, Modern Inspiration

The Filigree editorial was all about taking the grandeur of the past and reimagining it for the present. For couples who want a wedding that feels luxurious, timeless, and rich with detail, this shoot is proof that Melbourne has the venues and creative talent to make that vision real.
