Where do I even start with Mick and Nathalie! These two are an incredible couple that I was lucky enough to photograph in 2022. Their Mornington Peninsula wedding was everything they are as a couple – fun, relaxed, cool and delightfully unique. These two love birds were looking for a cool Mornington Peninsula wedding venue, so it was no surprise when they chose Commonfolk for both their ceremony and reception! To add an extra layer of special, this was also a regular for Micks Mum, who had sadly passed away.

Commonfolk in Mornington is an absolute cracker if you’re looking for a relaxed and modern wedding venue on the Mornington Peninsula! Nestled in one of the back streets of Mornington, Commonfolk is known for its amazing and ethically sourced coffee. They roast their coffee fresh and it’s a very popular and trendy cafe down this way! Not only are they known for their coffee, they also have delicious food! The brickwork with the gorgeous art work at the back of Commonfolk is perfect for a cool wedding! The interior is lined with festoon lights and greenery, so you really can’t help by have fun! Interested in having your wedding at Commonfolk Mornington? Get in touch with them here.

These two got ready together which I thought was really cool, but they did have a first look out the front. Micks two kids were super excited and had been working hard to decorate some special things for the wedding. I even got to here Morrison play the guitar! Nathalie wore a beautiful refurbished Anna Campbell dress. It was absolutely stunning, and she looked even more amazing after Hayley and Viv finished her hair and make up. If you’re looking for a hair and/or make up artist for your Mornington Peninsula wedding then definitely check them out!

We had the most amazing portrait session at The Bay Hotel. If you’re looking for a unique and very cool place to have your wedding photos on the Mornington Peninsula then you have to check out the band room here. Mick and Nathalie are a great couple and got some gorgeous photos here, but something I love about them is their sense of humour. Early in their relationship they started taking photos called ‘weirdo photos’. They’re photos where they stand side by side and pose stiffly. This became their signature ‘shot’ and we even got their guests to do the pose as well! It was hilarious and I had so much fun asking their friends and family to perform the weirdo pose.

But I digress, next up was their amazing wedding at Commonfolk in Mornington. If you’re looking for a Mornington Peninsula celebrant then you have to check out Emma Tomlinson. Their ceremony was the perfect combination of laughs, tears and love!! Emma had their guests roaring with laughter at some of tales of Mick and Nathalie’s relationship (including Micks Facebook rants haha). Peninsula Wild Flower, a Mornington Peninsula Wedding florist, has beautiful arrangements for the arbour and the place. It was perfect for this Commonfolk wedding. Nathalie’s bouquet was absolutely stunning.

Then it was party time!! Aside from a cake cut (an amazing cake made by Nathalie’s friend ….) and a first dance, Mick and Nathalie kept it pretty low key so there was plenty of time for chatting and dancing. Nathalie’s fiends band played and it was amazing! Live music is so fantastic at a wedding.

Now just when you thought Mick and Nathalie couldn’t get any cooler… introducing WEDFEST!!! The celebrations weren’t over after their epic wedding finished. The next day they put on ANOTHER amazing celebration so everyone could bring their family and kids and for those who couldn’t make their Commonfolk wedding.

It was the kind of wedding that left your soul on fire in a good way. Thanks so much Mick and Nathalie for having me as your wedding photographer
